UPDATE: Mustang Spring: Day Twenty
Spring and Annie
(2009.JUL.08)
Spring, our little orphan mustang, is doing fantastically well!
Most of her injuries are completely healed, and some new hair is growing in … The deepest gashes on her forelegs are still open, but coming along nicely – thanks mostly to some marvelous colloidal silver salve recommended by the feed store owner, and TLC. Another week or so, and even those serious cuts will be closed over.
Spring is putting on some weight – hardly a rib is showing – and she is beginning to express some attitude, while remaining gentle and quiet-natured.
She has bonded with Annie (also an orphan mustang), the mare. Soon, she may be able to go out into the large pasture.
This little horse has touched so many hearts – thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in her story, and in the broader wild horse population that is threatened with governmental removal from their wildland habitat, here in eastern Nevada!
