Announcing Spring

Today, I saw numerous marvels of springtime in the mountains, but no others that made me stop and go running up the hillside — until I saw these FIRST Indian paintbrushes of the season.

These brilliant wildflowers come in a variety of colors and shades. They appear in late spring and bloom well into late summer.
