Someplace To Call Home
According to local legend, the young immigrant made his first camp under the sheltering overhang of this massive boulder, and there resided for quite some time, while building his homestead, and his flock.
His wife and family came later, and it is said that the family flourished and prospered in this vast desert “wasteland”.
I cannot say whether the primitive awning contains the original saplings; in this climate, it is somewhat possible – though most likely they have been replaced from time to time, as needed.
