The Ranch House
The legend as I was told:
More than a century ago, a young Italian immigrant came to this barren country – somewhere near the village of Denio, in northern Nevada—alone. For the first year or so, he lived in a makeshift shelter beneath a huge boulder.
Meanwhile, he set about constructing a home for his family, who would join him as soon as he got settled.
Built to endure, the house walls are about two feet thick, and squarely engineered.
As with most pioneer homesteads, living quarters were small and efficiently arranged. Sleeping quarters were upstairs, beneath the low-hanging rafters.
