Depot at Cherry Creek

Abandoned railroad siding at Cherry Creek, Nevada

Maintenance shed, and water tower that supplied locomotives carrying ore from the Kennecott Copper Mine at Ruth, Nevada to Salt Lake City, UT

The tracks were first laid in 1906, during a silver and gold boom that had run its course by the 1920’s.

Kennecott shut down operations in White Pine County, about 1976.
The trains have not run for many years.
