Cool Water
Steptoe Valley Slough
Natural drainage across the valley floor is fed by runoff from melting mountain snow throughout the spring and summer, dries up in late fall and remains so, through the winter. As this is one of the last places to retain water in the “hot” season, it is a natural attraction for birds and wildlife.
