Leanin' Tree House - Cherry Creek, NV
One of the oldest remaining buildings in Cherry Creek, Nevada.
Probably constructed in the late 1800’s; the house is built from rough-hewn timber, sided with narrow wooden slats. It has never had electriciy, and the only plumbing is a single cold-water line to the kitchen.
Contains some anachronistic furniture c. 1950’s vintage … as would coincide with a brief post-war boom, when the tungsten market revived for a short time.
Very few of the old pioneer homes remain in Cherry Creek, and recent emigrants have brought devastating changes to the village.
